Beyonce's Hair Stylist in Black is King

 

It's been just a few days since Beyoncé released his highly anticipated film and visual album Black Is King and the project's hair stylist, Neal Farinah, is happy to be back at her salon. Like other hair salons in New York City, the pandemic forced it to close its doors for months, but reopened in July. Farinah brought in a number of other talented black stylists, including Kimble, Nakia Rachon Collins, Xia Charles, Keinda Davis, Nicole Newland, Safiya Warner, Tashana Miles, Kendra Garvey, Kamilah Gerestant and many more - and they went all to work. Beyonce wanted her hair done by Friday, so Farinah asked her manager to search social media for the best black hairdressers and send them to her salon that morning. Without mention the fact that the look inspired by the beauty and culture of black hair was inspired. Beyonce assembled a top-notch team with longtime stylists Kim Kimble and Neal Farriah who partnered with Nakia Collins, Xia Charles, Safiya Warner and Kendra Garvey to create over 40 wigs for the film, to name a few. Thanks to hairstylist Kim Kimble and her team, she created the braided hairstyle from the music video "Spirit.". Kimble produced the braided hairstyle Beyonce wears in the bright green and yellow highlighter dress for dance number "Spirits" with a team of stylists working on the braids and wigs. In "Black Is King," the Arima native acted as the lead hairdresser, rallying an army of other stylists to design the hairstyles for the song. Kimble said she and a whole team of stylists worked simultaneously on the braided wig and hair for Beyoncé's dancers in the "Spirit" video. It should come as no surprise that Beyonce tapped one of her favorite hairstylists, Neal Farinah, to take responsibility for creating the film's iconic look. Farinah explains that the goal of hairstyling is to educate people about blackness, black hair, black trends, how amazing it is, the history and culture behind it, how Black Women Hair has been collected for many years, how style is not just about hair, but about the deeper meaning behind it.
